Tata Steel International has successfully introduced the concept of steel framed buildings, and the ComFlor range of composite floor decks to India. The ICICI Bank project in Hyderabad is India’s largest steel framed construction, 28 floors with 418,000 sq m of floor space.

The construction industry in India has been going through a boom. Fast construction is paramount as a rapidly growing economy brings rising costs, and therefore generating time savings in the construction programme can offset significant proportions of the overall construction cost.

However, a new breed of engineers and architects are refusing to be constrained by traditional designs and products, and are looking to explore the potential of modern construction techniques.

Tata Steel NZ was selected to manufacture and supply 115,000 sq m of ComFlor 80 for this very prestigious project. A total of 71 x 40’ shipping containers were utilised to export the 1320 tonnes of finished product to India.

Detailed design software can be downloaded, along with full case studies, product catalogues, acoustic performance data, MasterSpec® specification guides, CAD files, etc.
